Your details, handled with care.
This statement explains what personal data Southern Flavours collects when you request a booking, why, where it is kept and for how long, and what your rights are. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, in Dutch: AVG).
Who is responsible
Southern Flavours, chef for hire, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Questions about your data: southern.flavours@outlook.com.
What I collect
Only what you enter when you request a date: your name, e-mail address, phone number, the address or venue, the date and time, the number of guests, the type of occasion and anything you choose to tell me in your message.
Payments go through Mollie. I never see or store your card or bank details; I only receive whether the deposit was paid.
Why
- To handle your request and booking: to check availability, confirm, plan the event and invoice it (performance of a contract).
- To meet legal obligations: Dutch tax law requires invoices and related records to be kept (legal obligation).
- To keep the booking form safe: to stop spam and abuse, a request is briefly counted per network address (legitimate interest). That count is deleted after an hour.
Your details are never sold, never used for advertising and never shared with anyone other than the services below.
Where it is kept
- Microsoft Outlook: the booking appears in my calendar and the e-mails about it in my mailbox.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and keeps the booking record the booking system needs.
- Mollie (Amsterdam): handles the deposit payment.
These providers process data on my behalf under data-processing terms. Microsoft and Cloudflare may process data outside the EU; they do so under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long
- A request that does not lead to a booking: deleted within twelve months.
- A booking: kept for seven years, as Dutch tax law requires for invoices and related records.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies and does not track you. To see how many people visit and which parts are read, I use Cloudflare Web Analytics: privacy-first visitor statistics that set no cookies, do not identify you and do not follow you across other websites; I only see totals. Fonts and images are served from this site itself. Your browser only remembers, for the current visit, that the opening animation has already been shown.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable form. E-mail southern.flavours@outlook.com and I will respond within a month. If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
